American Airlines to Launch Daily Flights to Dominica

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 21, 2021

Dominica’s new nonstop service on American Airlines is an instant hit.

American Airlines has announced that the just-launched Miami-Dominica route will expand to daily service beginning on April 5, 2022.

The new Miami-Dominica flights, which represent the first-ever nonstop route from the United States to Dominica, are currently operating twice each week, with a third weekly flight set to begin in January.

The announcement “is a testament to American Airlines’ belief in the tourism product of Dominica and the growing demand for the destination's unique low density, nature immersed, tourism product,” said Dominica Tourism Minister Denise Charles.

Dominica tourism officials say they’ve set a goal of reaching 200,000 annual visitors in the next five years.

The new flights “will be a major factor in establishing better relationships with US tour operators and travel agents which will result in more business for the hoteliers and service providers in Dominica,” said Colin Piper, CEO and Director of Tourism at the Discover Dominica Authority.
