Southwest Airlines Is Planning Another Cancun Expansion
Southwest Airlines is adding more flights to one of the Caribbean’s hottest destinations: Cancun, Mexico.
The low-cost carrier is slated to ramp up its service from San Antonio to Cancun beginning June 5, according to a statement from the company.
San Antonio-Cancun flights will go from Saturday-only to daily service.
The carrier also announced it would be resuming its Saturday-only service between Milwaukee and Cancun in June as well.
Southwest has additionally announced plans to expand from once-weekly to daily service between Austin and another popular Mexican destination Cabo San Lucas.
Cancun has seen sizzling tourism growth amid the pandemic, in large part to the wider region’s most liberal health protocols (there is no entry test required).
Both routes have already launched sales online, according to the carrier.
