By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 17, 2021

The Punta Borinquen Resort in Puerto Rico has completed a substantial renovation project, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The Aguadilla area property has put the finishing touches on an $8.6 million renovation project.

“Our company has been here for nearly 30 years since we first bet on the tourism potential of tourism in the north [of Puerto Rico],” said Jesus “Chu” Ruiz Brignoni, owner of the property. “Aguadilla and the Porta del Sol region have much to offer.

The new-look Punta Borinquen has a total of 92 rooms, along with a restaurant, a swimming pool and a 22,000-square-foot convention center.

It’s also in close proximity to the Punta Borinquen Golf Course and the Ocean Casino, among other attractions.

“We are extremely excited to be able to celebrate the reopening with these Puerto Rican businessmen who share our vision of the great contribution that tourism can have for the quality of life for our people,” said Carlos Mercado Santiago, executive director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.
