Hyatt Is Opening a New Hotel in Panama City

It’s one of the most charming neighborhoods in all of Central America: the Casco Antigua (also known as Casco Viejo) of Panama City, Panama. 

And now one of the world’s biggest hotel brands is entering the market. 

Hyatt’s Unbound Collection is set to open its first hotel in the region, with the debut next spring of the Hotel La Compañía, a luxury boutique hotel set in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It’s set in side a 17th-century that was once a Jesuit convent; the property has been “delicately restored” by a team of designers and architects to create what Hyatt is calling a “living museum where the history of Panama will be showcased through a bold and contemporary design concept.”

The property will feature a total of 88 rooms and suites, along with a five dining concepts: an all-day eatery, a bistro and coffee bar; an Italian restaurant and a steakhouse with an underground wine cellar. 

That’s along with a spa with four treatment rooms and a rooftop sky deck with an infinity pool with views of the city and the Pacific Ocean and a bar.
