American Airlines Expands Flights to Kingston, Jamaica

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - November 10, 2021

American Airlines has added another new route to Jamaica, with the debut of service between Philadelphia and Kingston.

The new flights, which kicked off last week, are operating three times each week, with flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays.

It’s American’s second route from Philadelphia to Jamaica, complementing an existing route between Philadelphia and Montego Bay.

The latter service operates daily.

“We are very pleased to welcome this new service from our largest air passenger carrier, American Airlines,” said Donovan White, Jamaica’s Director of Tourism. “These new flights to Jamaica from Philadelphia provide additional convenient options for visitors and Caribbean nationals from the Northeastern U.S. to travel to island. With a large diaspora population living in this region, it will now be easier than ever for them to fly right into Kingston. We’re further grateful to American for inaugurating this additional service at the ideal time of year to impact Jamaica’s high season arrivals.”

The launch comes as American continues to add capacity to Jamaica, up gauging its aircraft on Montego Bay flight out of hubs including Dallas, Miami and Philadelphia to Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners.
