Why Miami’s Hottest Chef Is Coming to Bimini

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 16, 2021

Miami’s hottest chef, Adrianne Calvo, is taking her talents to Bimini for a special culinary weekend, Caribbean Journal has learned.

From Aug. 13-15, she will be hosting five events tailored for what she calls “fun culinarians” at Resorts World Bimini in The Bahamas.

“I am thrilled to be hosting this very exciting epicurean weekend in paradise. Resorts World Bimini is a stunning property, I really couldn’t ask for a better backdrop,” Calvo said. “Travel, adventure, great food and drinks, for me, it simply doesn’t get any better.”

That includes a welcome sunset happy hour, a beachside hog roast with Caymus Vineyards; a tacos-beer-margaritas beach party; “Dark Dining Under the Sea; and a farewell fried chicken and Bloody Mary brunch.

Calvo’s signature “Dark Dining” sees guests eat their food blindfolded, opening themselves up to an undiscovered world of flavors and experiences.

“I love sharing these wonderful moments with everyone. I especially love when a guest has something they’ve eaten all their life, and just because they were blindfolded, was able to taste it differently, appreciate it more. Sometimes, I’m lucky enough to have a guest discover they actually like something they thought they didn’t. That moment of self discovery is priceless,” she says.
