Frontier Airlines is set to launch a new nonstop route to Cancun on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The low-cost carrier’s latest Caribbean expansion is a thrice-weekly flight between Dallas-Fort Worth and Cancun.

The service will begin operating on June 10, according to the company.

“Sun-seeking travelers have more options than ever to take an affordable and unforgettable trip this summer with Frontier. Our team is looking forward to welcoming vacationers aboard these exciting new flights” said Barry Biffle, president and CEO, Frontier Airlines.

Frontier is clearly looking to become a serious player in the Caribbean, with rapid growth to the region even amid the pandemic.

And no Caribbean destination has seen more new airlift in the last year than Cancun.
