American Airlines is expanding its capacity with widebody aircraft on several popular Caribbean routes this summer, Caribbean Journal has learned.

This summer, American will be operating select flights from Miami to San Juan on Boeing 777-200 aircraft, according to a statement from the world’s largest airline.

The carrier will also employ its Boeing 787-8 aircraft flights from Miami to Port-au-Prince, Haiti this summer, it said.

American “will continue to offer more flights to more destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean than any other airline,” the company said.

“American is using widebody aircraft to match demand from MIA,” the company said.
