One of the top yachting destinations in The Bahamas has expanded with 21 new moorings near its marina, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The addition provides what the property called “a much-needed secure mooring option for boaters in the area while also protecting the underwater environment from anchor damage.”

Moorings can be rented either nightly or on a two-hour basis.

The Yacht Club is a prime destination for aquatic adventures to nearby spots like the original home of Exuma’s swimming pigs; the Thunderball Grotto and a number of sandbars, among others.

The mooring field was installed through a collaboration between Pioneer Moorings, The Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, and the Staniel Cay Yacht Club.
