Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit Expands Testing Options

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 18, 2021

Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit has revealed an expanded testing capability amid the new CDC mandate requiring negative test results for returning U.S. travelers.

The Mexican destination says travelers can now get tested at three top local hospitals, along with local labs and clinics in the area.

That includes Hospital Joya, Hospital CMQ and Hospital Punta Mita.

“Riviera Nayarit has enough test kits as well as the capacity to assist its visitors with this new requirement prior to the return back to the United States and Canada,” explains Marc Murphy, managing director for the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau. “The destination has first-rate hospitals and clinics where travelers can have tests administered in a safe and convenient environment; we are prepared to make their visits as seamless as possible in this new normal.” Numerous resorts in the destination are also in the process of facilitating COVID-19 testing services for guests on-site.”

The United States is accepting both PCR and Antigen test results.

All visitors need to make appointments and must present their passport and departure ticket to travel in a period no longer than 72 hours.
