Barceló Is Opening a New All-Inclusive in Mexico

By: Alexander Britell - November 19, 2019

Spain’s Barceló Hotel Group is bringing a new adults-only, all-inclusive resort to the Caribbean coast of Mexico.

The new Barceló Maya Riviera is set to debut Dec. 15 in the heart of the Riviera Maya, a company spokesperson told Caribbean Journal.

The 850-room resort will join Barcelo’s Maya Grand Resort, a complex that includes five other resorts and, soon, the Barceló Maya Arena, the largest convention center in the wider region.

“We’re thrilled to be opening our new adults-only property in Riviera Maya this winter,” said Stefania Ballotta, Director of Sales & Marketing at Barceló Maya Grand Resort. “Fun, luxury and relaxation will all be easily within reach here – and we can’t wait to welcome our first guests.”

All of the units at the resort will be either junior suites or full suites, half of which will feature ocean views, with every unit featuring a hot tub on the balcony.

The resort will also include more than 100 swim-up suites.

Dining concepts will range from French fine dining to Italian to a Teppanyaki-style Japanese eatery, along with a three-meal international buffet restaurant.

Guests at the Maya Riviera will be able to enjoy amenities (and food and beverage) at any of the other five resorts in the complex, totaling 22 eateries, 10 pools, three theaters, three water parks and a bowling alley.

The aforementioned convention center, also scheduled to debut in December, will have the capacity for up to 8,000 attendees, with 190,000 square feet of multi-purpose event space.

Barcelo’s broad portfolio of Caribbean Basin resorts includes properties in destinations including Aruba, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Mexico and Nicaragua.
