Spanish hotel giant Riu Hotels and Resorts is reopening one of its all-inclusive hotel properties in Jamaica.

Riu will be reopening its Riu Ocho Rios resort this month following a “complete refurbishment of the property.”

The reopening was announced during Jamaica’s JAPEX tourism exchange conference in Montego Bay this week.

As part of the upgrade project, the 900-room beach resort has added 45 new family rooms.

It’s the latest in what has been a Caribbean-wide hotel renovation push for Riu that has seen transformations to a number of its resorts.

Riu has a total of six resorts in Jamaica across Montego Bay, Negril and Ocho Rios.
