Delta Air Lines is adding another new flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The fast-expanding carrier is launching a second daily flight from New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport to San Juan’s Luis Munoz Marin International Airport beginning Dec. 21.

It will be the fourth daily frequency between San Juan and New York, with Delta set to operate the service on Boeing 737-900ER aircraft with 20 seats in first class, 21 in Delta Comfort+ and 139 in the main cabin.

“The exponential year-over-year growth for Delta’s service in San Juan is a clear indication that demand is on the rise and that Delta is equally committed to being part of Puerto Rico’s promising future as a leading tourism destination,” said Carla Campos, Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company. “We sincerely appreciate Delta’s continued partnership, evidenced by upwards of 50 percent increase in total projected seat capacity for San Juan (January 2020).”
