Boldfaced names from across the Caribbean descended upon Miami on Thursday for Bisnow’s third-annual Caribbean Hospitality & Investment Summit.

The high-level conference, which took place at the Intercontinental hotel in downtown Miami, brought together a who’s who of dealmakers, investors, developers and destination officials for a slate of presentations and panels on pressing issues in the region.

The summit, presented by the Puerto Rico Builders Association, included a spotlight on Puerto Rico’s surging investment environment, a look at hotel and resort projects underway and eyeing financing and a focus on networking and dealmaking.

That included several high-level officials from Puerto Rico, most notably Brad Dean, the CEO of Discover Puerto Rico, the territory’s new destination marketing organization.

The event additionally aimed to highlight what has become a rapidly strengthening economic climate in Puerto Rico, fueled in part by a range of favorable tax incentives aimed at investors and job creators.
