One of Bermuda’s preeminent hotels has named a new managing director.

The luxe Rosewood Bermuda has appointed Sascha Hemmann as the new managing director of the hotel, which is set in Bermuda’s Tucker’s Point.

The property reopened last year after a $25 million renovation.

Hemmann will oversee all aspects of the 88-room property.

“Sascha brings a wealth of unique, internationally-informed industry experience to his new role at Rosewood Bermuda,” said Radha Arora, president of Rosewood. “We are thrilled to have Sascha lead Rosewood Bermuda’s talented and skilled team.”

The property said he would also work closely with the Bermuda Tourism Authority to help connect guests with Bermuda’s history and culture.

Hemmann was most recently the general manager of the Nanuku Auberge in Fiji.

“I am thrilled to be joining Rosewood Bermuda’s dedicated team, which curates unforgettable experiences for the hotel’s guests and club members to help them connect with Bermuda’s vibrant heritage,” Hemmann said. “The team is constantly coming up with unique amenities and offerings that celebrate [Bermuda’s] rich culture, and I am excited to be a part of the journey.”
