It’s no secret that the USVI has struggled to spur hotel development for decades.

But the territory’s is looking to change that, highlighted by a new online database aimed at spurring new development.

It adds to a high-profile push by USVI Governor Albert Bryan and Tourism Commissioner Designee Joe Beschulte to drive hotel construction.

The result? A new digital database created by the USVI Economic Development Authority.

“Hotel and resort developers need readily-accessible resources that can assist them in locating properties that are available for development,” said Kamal Latham, chief executive officer of the USVI Economic Development Authority.

The new portal includes aerial video, descriptions, prices and locations of more than 50 government and privately-owned properties ripe for new hotels.
