Sunwing Travel Group’s Royalton brand, which has been growing at an exceptionally fast pace in the Caribbean, is adding another resort in the region.

Sunwing has announced plans to open the new all-inclusive Royalton Resort in Grenada in December 2019.

Royalton has been expanding at a breakneck pace in the region.

The 300-room property will be the largest resort in Grenada, adding to expanding collection of all-inclusives on the island including the Sandals Grenada and the Spice Island Beach Resort.

It will be located on Magazine Beach in Grenada, a short drive from the island’s airport, a transformation of the former Rex Resorts property.

The overhaul will also take that property from 212 rooms to 300.

The move is part of Sunwing’s recently-announced strategic alliance with Rex, one that has seen the company rebrand several other hotels in the region.

The property will feature a spa, eight restaurants, the brand’s signature Diamond Club premium option and amenities like keyless entry , DreamBeds and reservation-free dining.

It’s a big boost for Grenada, home to some of the region’s most spectacular beaches.

Royalton will also offer its RoyaltonFit health and wellness program and events like the “White Party” and others.

It’s the latest new addition for the brand, which has added a host of new resorts in Jamaica, Saint Lucia and the Dominican Republic in recent years.

“Grenada is a beautiful and welcoming destination with a lot to offer and we’re looking forward to spearheading tourism growth on the Island and have already started with our new flights beginning next month,” said Stephen Hunter, president and chief executive officer of Sunwing Travel Group.

Grenada has seen surging tourism growth in recent years, and the Royalton entry adds to a hotel pipeline that includes the highly anticipated Silversands hotel and the Kimpton Kawana Bay — the latter the second Kimpton hotel in the Caribbean.
