One of the Caribbean’s most legendary bands is coming to Saint Lucia later this month.

The Zouk group Kassav, the most famous in the history of the genre, is coming for a concert at Saint Lucia’s Pigeon Island National Landmark on Oct. 27.

The performance is expected to include a wide array of the group’s biggest hits, including Zouk la se sel medikaman nou ni, Mwen di ou awa, Oh Madiana, Doméyis, WEP, Siwo and Pa bizwen pale .

The performance by the Guadeloupe-based group“Saint Lucia’s history is vibrant and colorful, spanning epic colonial battles to iconic historical and cultural figures like Queen of Folk Dame Sesenne Descartes, Charles Cadette, Athenians Laborde, Harold Simmons, Rameau Poleon, Roderick & Derek Walcott and others who have left indelible marks on Saint Lucia’s cultural and historical landscape. What better way to highlight their contributions than via our acceptance and celebration of the sounds of culture and heritage as exemplified in the lyrics of Kassav and others,” said Jermaine Magras of Jay Upscale Marketing, the promoter for the event.

The concert will also feature local “kweyol”-infused cuisine, fashion apparel and traditional arts and crafts.
