United Resuming St Thomas Flights

United is making a big return to the island of St Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands.

United resumed its flights to St Thomas from both Newark and Washington, D.C. this weekend, according to the United States Virgin Islands Department of Tourism.

United will also be relaunching flights to St Thomas from Houston later this month, and providing daily nonstop flights to St Thomas out of Washington Dulles International Airport this summer, with service between early June and late August.

The resumptions were confirmed following talks between US Virgin Islands Tourism Commissioner Beverly Nicholson-Doty and United Airlines in Chicago this week.

The service will complement recently-expanded service to St Thomas on Spirit Airlines, which also is set to launch new flights to St Croix out of Fort Lauderdale later this spring.
