Balearia Caribbean has expanded its ferry service between Fort Lauderdale and Grand Bahama.

The shipping line will now be operating the route every day except Wednesday on its fast ferry Jaume I.

Balearia Caribbean COO Mario Otero said the services were being “improved” and various policies were being implemented to “loyalize its customers on this route.”

Last year, Balearia Caribbean transported 150,000 passengers, a 5 percent increase over the previous year.

The company’s Grand Bahama ferry has a capacity of 623 people and can sail at a speed of 32 knots.

The trip takes about 3.5 hours each way.
