Punta Cana Just Got Closer: New Nonstop Flights Are Launching From Miami
Beach days in Bavaro. Golf at Corales. Adventures at Cap Cana’s Scape Park. Punta Cana is the most popular destination in the most popular country in the Caribbean, at least when you look at total visitation. And the Dominican Republic’s tourism hub isn’t slowing down.
In fact, it’s getting even easier to visit, with a major new route on local airline Arajet launching next month, Caribbean Journal has confirmed.
The new nonstop service will connect Miami and Punta Cana International Airport, with the first flight taking off on June 13.
The flight, which takes a little over two and a half hours, will be running on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, at least to start. It’s one of the first two US routes for the Dominican Republic-based carrier (the other is New York, also launching in June).
So what about cost? If you check one bag, roundtrip fares start at $266.87. That compares favorably with flights on carriers like Spirit ($305 roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale to Punta Cana) and American Airlines ($751 roundtrip from Miami in the same period, according to Google Flights).
