Operator FRS Caribbean is launching temporary ferry service between Freeport, Grand Bahama and Miami, the company announced.

The service will operate between Oct. 23 and the end of December as the Grand Celebration ship, which usually operates cruises to Freeport, is on reassignment helping the U.S. government with hurricane relief.

FRS Caribbean already operates service between Miami and Bimini.

The Bahamian government said it was in discussions with FRS toward the “full time establishment” of ferry services between Miami and Freeport.
