Belize’s tourism sector continues to surge in 2017, according to the country’s latest travel data.

Belize reported a total of 230,151 stayover arrivals in the first half of 2017, a 7.8 percent increase compared to the first six months of 2016.

That included 10 percent year over year growth in the month of June.

The 7.8 percent rate, among the highest in the Caribbean this year, comes after Belize reported 13 percent tourism growth and a total of 385,583 overnight arrivals in 2016.

“These latest statistics not only provide a very positive outlook for tourism arrivals for the remainder of this year and beyond,” the Belize Tourism Board said in a statement.
