Southwest Airlines is planning a major expansion of flights to the Caribbean, the carrier announced this week.
The new flights are highlighted by the planned June launch of daily flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Grand Cayman’s Owen Roberts International Airport.
Also on June 4, Southwest will be launching new daily nonstop service from Fort Lauderdale to Montego Bay Jamaica; Belize and Cancun in the Mexican Caribbean.
Southwest has already been operating flights from FTL to three cities in Cuba (Havana, Varadero and Santa Clara) along with Nassau in the Bahamas.
Southwest also announced plans to operate flights between Cincinnati and Grand Cayman, also starting June 4.
