Smoked Old Fashioned

It’s almost certainly the most creative rhum company in Martinique — Rhum HSE, the always-innovating brand in Gros Morne.

Now they’re at it again, this time with a brand-new cocktail recipe.

It’s called the Smoked Old Fashioned.

With its gourmet, lightly-smoked touch, its makers call it “a cocktail to linger over.”

The recipe calls for:

5 cl Black Sheriff rum

1 spoon cane sugar

Small dash Bitter Chocolate

1 orange zest

1 cinnamon stick

Soak the cane sugar with the Bitter, and then dilute it using a spoon.

Add three ice cubes and half of the Black Sheriff.

Stir to dilute and blend.

Then, add some ice cubes and the rest of the rum.

Stir to obtain the desired dilution, and garnish with a piece of orange peel.
