Spirit Airlines’ Newest Hires

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - August 17, 2016

Fort Lauderdale-based Spirit Airlines has named two new executives to its leadership team.

The airline appointed Matt Klein as Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer and has named Rocky Wiggins as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer.

“At Spirit, we are very proud of our growth and success as an airline and as a team,” said Spirit’s President and CEO, Bob Fornaro. “We are expanding our fleet, adding new routes, focusing on improving our operations and customer experience, all while delivering on our promise to deliver ultra-low fares. These two individuals will help drive that vision, bringing valuable insight and experiences to help us achieve our goals and reach new heights as an airline.”

Klein will lead revenue and marketing strategy efforts– managing Spirit’s Network Planning & Revenue Management and Consumer Marketing teams.

Klein was most recently working in various consulting capacities in the travel industry.

Prior to that, he served as Chief Commercial Officer at lastminute.com and Vice President of Global Airline Relations at Travelocity.

Wiggins will spearhead Spirit’s IT strategy and operations.

He joins Spirit with 35 years of experience in the travel industry, and has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Cambria/Sun Country Airlines, and Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of AirTran Airways.

Spirit flies to 14 destinations around the Caribbean.
