Hyatt Place Opens in San Juan’s Convention District

A new Hyatt Place hotel has opened its doors in the Convention District of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

“[Puerto Rico’s] transformation in tourism has been achieved with the examples that we are presenting today,” said Puerto Rico Governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla.

The new 149-room hotel is the result of a $29.6 million investment; Puerto Rico’s government contributed $5.9 million of that number.

The government estimated that 586 direct and indirect jobs had been generated during construction and operation.

It’s the latest in a series of Hyatt-branded hotels to have opened in Puerto Rico in the last two years, largely under the Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brand.
