China will be enhancing its cooperation with Grenada in the fight against climate change.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said this week that the country would “strengthen communication and coordination with Grenada on climate change,” according to a Grenada government statement.

China will also be providing assistance to islands like Grenada under the framework of South-South cooperation, Li said while meeting with Grenada Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell on the sidelines of the Summer Davos forum this week.

Li said Grenada had become an “important cooperation partner” of China in the Caribbean.

China has been working on a host of major projects in Grenada and the wider Caribbean in recent years.
