St Kitts and Nevis has pledged a $370,000 in humanitarian relief to assist Dominica in recovering from damages it suffered during Tropical Storm Erika.

St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris made the announcement at a special session of the island’s Cabinet of Ministers late last week, following conversations with Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit.

Harris said that Minister of State Wendy Phipps will coordinate St Kitts and Nevis’ national effort in support of Dominica following needs assessment by the Caribbean Disaster and Emergency Management Agency, which is currently underway.

Dominica was hit hard by Tropical Storm Erika, with at least 20 deaths reported and significant damage to infrastructure.
