An all-inclusive kitesurfing destination in St Lucia

By the Caribbean Journal staff

Romance, rum, rhythm and … kitesurfing.

Yes, the Helen of the West Indies is famous for a lot of things beyond its beautiful Pitons, but for those in the know, it’s a place for serious kitesurfers.

The destination? The Coconut Bay resort in Vieux Fort on St Lucia’s southern coast.

The all-inclusive property is home to the Surf Shack, the island’s leading destination for kitesurfing thanks to what are billed as some of the “strongest, most consistent winds in the Caribbean.”

The resort even offers tailored kitesurfing vacations for everyone from novices to pros, with everything from an introductory “taster” for kids to a “Surf and Stay” package that includes all-inclusive amenities and hours of complete kitesurfing lessons.

And when you’re done for the day, well, the resort recently unveiled an all-inclusive rum bar.
