It’s one of those legendary Caribbean cocktails: the Painkiller.
What makes it different is that, unlike some of the region’s other cocktail exports, to experience the Painkiller you really have to go to the source: the British Virgin Islands.
And while the beautiful archipelago is full of iterations of the cocktail, the most legendary is at the Soggy Dollar Bar, the world-famous beach bar on the tiny island of Jost Van Dyke. (The Soggy Dollar was named the No. 1 bar on Caribbean Journal’s recent list of the Caribbean’s 50 Best Beach Bars.
