The United States Virgin Islands is reporting strong growth so far in 2015, according to new numbers from the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

The US territory received 303,762 stayover visitors in the first four months of 2015; that represented a 6.5 percent improvement over the same period in 2014.

The numbers were boosted by a very strong month of April, when 73,813 visitors arrived in the territory, an increase of 10.1 percent over April 2014.

That came in contrast to disappointing numbers in the territory’s usually-strong cruise sector, which reported a 4.2 percent reduction in passenger arrivals.
