Avianca is expanding its Caribbean service with new flights to the island of San Andres.

The Colombia-based carrier will be operating thrice-weekly service between San Jose, Costa Rica on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The flights will officially launch July 3; the service will mean an easy connection for the 28 flights Avianca operates between Bogota and San Jose.

Avianca will be operating the service to the Colombian island on ATR-72 planes.

In a release, Avianca said San Andres was a “favourite destination:”

San Andres is the largest island in an archipelago on the Caribbean coast of Central America, although it is under Colombia’s sovereignty.
