AlSol Hotels and Resorts is opening its newest property in the Dominican Republic next month.

AlSol Tiara Cap Cana is slated to open June 1, a boutique hotel in the heart of one of the country’s toniest neighbourhoods.

The 112-suite beachfront property is adjacent to the Marina Cap Cana. All of the accommodations are located on the ground floor.

“What sets Tiara apart in our resort portfolio is its modern take on luxury in an intimate atmosphere with a distinctive personality,” said Carlos Del Pino, managing director at AlSol Hotels and Resorts. “At Tiara, we wanted to create a truly social hotel for mingling, entertainment and serendipitous encounters for a memorable vacation.”

The property will include menus created by executive chef Israel Gata, including Mexican eatery Xoxolati, Caribya Beach Grill and pan-Asian restaurant Blue Lotus.

The resort will also include the Caribbean’s only BABOR Signature Spa.

Journey to Palomino Island

I can see Puerto Rico ahead, its mountains climbing on top of one another, lightly obscured by the recent Sahara haze. But this isn’t Puerto Rico; it’s something else; something Defoe might dream up. Rum Journal: Tasting the New Depaz XO

Above: the Depaz plantation in Martinique (CJ Photo) It’s simple: we at Rum Journal love Martinique’s Rhum Depaz. In fact, its Cuvee Prestige took home the Rhum Agricole of the Year award last year. But it remains largely a secret outside of Martinique. Even outside of the north of Martinique, one might argue. And while […]
