Comedian and late-night television host Conan O’Brien made history this week with a special taping in Havana, Cuba.

In doing so, the Harvard-educated TBS star (and former host of the Tonight Show) became the first American late-night host in more than a half-century to film in Cuba.

“This is a very historic time,” he said to open the Cuba special. “Relations between Cuba and the United States are finally starting to thaw. I though this was an amazing opportunity for me to come to Cuba, talk to the people, get to know them.”

The often humorous, colorful taping featured O’Brien visiting everything from the Havana Club Rum Museum to a Cuban supermarket, frequently with a satirical eye.
