Sandals Officially Opens in Barbados

Sandals has welcomed its first guests in Barbados following a wide-ranging $65 million renovation project.

The project, at the site of the former Couples Barbados, is located in Christ Church on the island’s South Coast.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be here in Barbados, one of the leading destinations in the world,” said General Manager Josef Zellner. “Sandals and Barbados are a perfect fit which visitors will enjoy for many years to come. This dream has been a long time coming and we are happy to finally be here.”

The Dover-area property has 10 restaurants including an Indian restaurant, a first for the brand, called the Bombay Club.

The 280-room property, which includes Sandals River Suites, employs more than 600 people.

Sandals now has 15 branded properties across the region.
