Ever wanted to go behind the scenes in a hotel kitchen? You can at Sandos Playacar in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, where the all-inclusive resort has recently launched a complimentary kitchen tour.

Participants find out firsthand what it takes to feed up to 2,500 hotel guests and to supply the resort’s 12 restaurants as they’re escorted through the heart of the hotel, touring the bakery, room service area, meat prep, recycling station, and even walk-in freezers.

They also meet the executive chef; watch cooking demonstrations; and sample hors d’oeuvres along the way.

Tours run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and can accommodate up to 12.

Reservations must be made in advance at the resort’s Guest Relations desk.
