Avianca is ramping up its service to Cancun, the Colombia-based carrier announced.

The company began a new daily nonstop flight from Bogota to Cancun on Aug. 15, meaning it now operates two daily flights to the Mexican Caribbean.

The company said the increase was part of a commitment to “support the growing demand of travelers in South America who want to access one of the top tourist developments in Mexico.”

The new service means Avianca now operates 20 flights per week to Cancun; 14 between Bogota and Cancun, and six each week between San Salvador and Cancun.

The new flights will be operated on Airbus A320 planes, with seating for 150 passengers.
