Colombia-based air carrier Avianca has expanded its service to Havana, Cuba, the carrier announced.

Avianca will be increasing the number of flights between Colombia’s capital, Bogota and Havana from four to five flights each week.

The expansion means more than 200 new seats each week between Colombia and Cuba.

Avianca now operates around 50 flights each week to the Caribbean, including direct flights to Aruba, Cancun, Curacao, Punta Cana, San Juan and Santo Domingo.

Avianca will be operating the service on Airbus A318 planes, with capacity for 100 passengers.

Avianca also operates direct flights five days per week between Lima, Peru and Havana and six-times weekly service between San Salvador and Havana.

The new service launched late last month.
