Puerto Rico Lightly Shaken By 4.2-Magnitude Earthquake

Puerto Rico was lightly shaken by a 4.2-magnitude earthquake on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake occurred just five kilometres off the coast of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico at just before 3PM local time.

It struck at a depth of 23 kilometres, according to the USGS.

Light shaking was felt as far east as San Juan, about 118 kilometres from the epicentre, while there were also reports of weak shaking on the country’s northwestern coast.

There were not yet any reports of damage or injuries due to the quake.
