Jamaica Tourism Minister Dr Wykeham McNeill will be announcing the details of “several major projects” ready for implementation in the country, he said this week.

The announcements of what McNeill called “transformational” projects will come during his speech to the 2013/2014 sectoral debate in Jamaica’s House of Representatives next week.

The country’s Tourism Enhancement Fund will have a “pivotal role” in these projects, he said.

“The Tourism Enhancement Fund must be a transformational body,” he said. “I want to see big projects that make a difference to Jamaica.”

Projections for the 2013 summer and winter seasons are “looking good” so far, according to the Minister.

He was speaking this week at the 52nd Annual General Meeting of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association.
