Cuba and Vietnam have signed an agreement to strengthen bilateral cooperation on education, Cuba’s government announced on Thursday.

The agreement was signed this week by Rodolfo Alarcon, head of Cuba’s Ministry of Higher Education, and Phan Vu Luan, Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam.

The agreement focuses on the exchange of specialists and teachers, along with the participation of teachers at seminars and events on higher education.

There are currently around 90 Vietnamese students in Cuba, while Vietnam offers 10 postgraduate scholarships to Cuban scholars every year, largely in the area of agronomy and oriental languages.
