Grenada Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell held talks Wednesday with Barbados Prime Minister Freundel Stuart in Bridgetown.

It was the first meeting between the two since both were elected in their countries’ general elections in February.

Mitchell is in Barbados to deliver the David Thompson Lecture at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill campus. The lecture is in honour of former Barbados Prime Minister David Thompson, who passed away in 2010, succeeded by Stuart.

The two sides discussed “issues on the regional agenda,” according to a statement.

Those included regional integration as it relates to the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, the region’s financial situation and the resolution of the CLICO situation.

Mitchell returns on Thursday.
