Haiti’s Martelly Names New Director General for Industrial Parks

Haiti President Michel Martelly has named businessman Bernard Schettini as the new director general of Haiti’s National Society of Industrial Parks, the National Palace announced in a statement Tuesday.

That includes the Caracol Industrial Park, which officially opened last year, which is owned by Haiti’s government but funded by the United States and the Inter-American Development Bank.

Schettini replaces Georges Sassine, who was appointed director general of SONAPI in the summer of 2012.

Current tenants at Caracol include Korean firm Sae-a and Haitian firm Peintures Caribes.
