Hyatt is continuing its legal actions over the property it managed in Curacao, the company told Caribbean Journal in a statement.

Hyatt had managed the Hyatt Regency Curacao Golf Resort, Spa and Marina until December, when Santa Barbara Hospitality, the owner of the property, removed the company as manager, citing an alleged failure to perform several duties.

Santa Barbara officially launched the newly-branded property this week, although a Hyatt spokesperson told Caribbean Journal that the dispute over the property was continuing.

“At this time, we are continuing to pursue our claims that the owner’s actions were an egregious breach of our agreement,” the spokesperson told Caribbean Journal via e-mail.

Hyatt has maintained the Web site for the Hyatt Regency Curacao Golf Resort, Spa & Marina.

It is currently directing travelers to call an 800 number to discuss their reservations.

The property, located on the Santa Barbara Plantation in Neiuwpoort, opened in 2010.
