Haiti’s Lamothe Congratulates US President Obama on Inauguration

Haiti Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe issued his congratulations to US President Barack Obama on the latter’s inauguration in Washington.

Obama was sworn in on Sunday.

Lamothe said he believed the inauguration of Obama would “help strengthen ties of cooperation between Haiti and the United States,” according to a statement.

Lamothe said he reaffirmed “the commitment of [Haiti’s] government to strengthen its cooperation with the new US administration to address the concerns of the Haitian people.”
