Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort Officially Launches in St Lucia

The $100 million renovation of the former Jalousie Plantation in St Lucia is now complete, relaunching the property as Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort, the Viceroy Hotel Group announced in a release.

The property, which is set in 100 acres of rainforest, has undergone a “complete transformation” helmed by Viceroy Hotel Group, which has managed the property since 2008.

“Transforming the Jalousie Plantation to Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort is the next step towards furthering the Viceroy Hotel Group’s international portfolio,” said Viceroy Hotel Group CEO Bill Walshe. “The total renovation of this picturesque St Lucia property will continue to draw the most discerning guests to relax and recharge in total luxury.”

Viceroy’s Caribbean portfolio also includes a resort in Anguilla.

The two restaurants and all four bars at Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort are new additions to the resort, including the Caribbean-inspired “The Great Room,” and the Bayside Bar and Restaurant.

The bar offerings include Cane Bar, Late Night Bar and The Palm Court.

Also debuting at the resort is The Terrace, a breakfast restaurant looking out on the lily pond and sugar mill ruins.

Sugar Beach also has a 9,427-square-foot Rainforest Spa.
