St Kitts and Nevis sprinter Tameka Williams has been sent home by the country’s Olympic Committee for allegedly using a banned substance.

The disclosure was made by Williams herself in a discussion with the management of the Olympic Team. The SKNOC said it considered the substance to fall “outside the internationally-accepted medical code.”

Williams, 22, was one of seven members of the twin-island federation’s Olympic delegation.

She had been set to compete in the women’s 100m and 200m in London.

The decision was made effective Saturday.

The SKNOC said the matter would be concluded “pending further investigations,” according to a release.

SKNOC Vice President Dennis Knight could not be reached for comment.
