The Beacon Heights project in St Kitts and Nevis is “progressing smoothly,” according to St Kitts and Nevis Foreign Minister Sam Condor.

Condor told a Cabinet meeting Wednesday that recent issues surrounding the project had subsided, and that several issues raised by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce had been addressed, according to Information Minister Nigel Carty.

Condor reportedly said he was satisfied with the progress being made on the project.

Some controversy arose over the project last year, after the construction of some homes was delayed.

According to Condor, five properties have already been sold at Beacon Heights, and interest has increased in the project, which could complete its landscape component by May.

The complete build-out of the project is slated to take between 7 and 10 years.

In May, Beacon Heights will exhibit a promotion in Canada aimed at attracting further interest.

Going forward, the Beacon Heights project will be funded by receipts from sales and clients deposits, according to Condor.

The project is a residential and commercial initiative by the St Christopher and Nevis Social Security Board.
