A new private jet terminal has broken ground at St Kitts’ Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport.

The project, which is a joint venture between the St Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority and VELING, a company from Mauritius will provide fast-track VIP services for a fee for anyone arriving at the airport, whether by private or commercial carrier, according to Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas.

“The SCASPA/VELING joint venture project represents additional opportunities for the people of St Kitts and Nevis,” Douglas said. “It will result in an increase in aircraft arrivals for the Federation and will be the source of employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.”

The project is set for completion in December.

It is one of several new developments currently underway in the federation, including Christopher Harbour and the new agro-tourism project that is a joint initiative with the government of Taiwan, the latter of which broke ground at the end of last month.
